QUEER HORROR NIGHTS
QUEER HORROR NIGHTS is an ongoing film odyssey by Last Frame Club and Token Homo dedicated to screening queer, cult and classic horror movies at film events across London.
“What an incredibly welcoming and fun event. Instantly felt part of a community and reminded me of the absolute joy of the shared cinema experience.” audience member
“Love queer film & queer horror – brilliant idea. I will be coming back!” audience member
Queer Horror Nights started with a double-bill of vampire movies in 2021 – tenderly titled ‘BITE ME!‘ – and, with the support of the National Lottery, launched a full year-long season in 2022, Q-RATED.
Q-RATED celebrated almost a century of horror movies made by out/queer directors. Films screened at The Castle Cinema (James Whale’s FRANKENSTEIN, Kimberly Peirce’s CARRIE and David Freyne’s THE CURED), The Cinema Museum (THE PSYCHO SEQUELS including Anthony Perkins’ own PSYCHO III), and Genesis Cinema (Stewart Thorndike’s LYLE). We ended the programme with an epic late night Halloween Monsters Ball screening of Clive Barker’s NIGHTBREED at Rio Cinema, punctuated by live drag performances from Loose Willis, Baby Lame and Co Kendrah. Oh, and we contributed to The Castle Cinema’s ‘Summer of Sci-Fi’ season, presenting David Cronenberg’s THE FLY and Brandon Cronenberg’s POSSESSOR as a closely related double-bill we chose to call ‘DADDY ISSUES?’.
2023 will be a year of special events and sexy collabs as we bring more queer love to the darkness.
