Man’s greatest weapon of mass destruction is our toxic stupidity, relentlessly pushing Planet Earth to the brink of ecocide (and beyond!). For better or worse, exploitation cinema has long been the awkward canary in the coal mine of man-made ecocatastrophe, fusing cautionary tales of our total annihilation with crowd-pleasing spectacle.
For our 14th sensational season, BAR TRASH tackles the most urgent issue of our time the only way we know: projecting chaotic visions of mass destruction as we shelter from the coming eco-storm with a strong drink (or several). Featuring (un)natural disasters, hideous eco-slime, atomic behemoths, dystopian futures, and gladiators roaming the wastelands, TRASH PLANET 3: APOCALYPSE! serves nuclear payloads of mayhem with one killer question: how will you survive?
TRASH PLANET 3 follows two previous seasons of eco-horror at BAR TRASH. The original TRASH PLANET (Season 2!) showcased a decade of eco-horror from 1971 to 1979 (with a brief sojourn to 1981 for a fishy double-bill). TRASH PLANET 2 (Season 5!) swam in a swirling cesspit of eco-horror where man’s toxic stupidity is forcing Mother Nature to bite back.
TRASH PLANET 3: APOCALYPSE! takes place (almost!) every Wednesday at Genesis Cinema from 23 September to 16 December and every Sunday at Beer Merchants Tap and Finsbury Park Picturehouse from 20 September to 13 December 2026. The Wednesday screening on 11 November will take place at Finsbury Park Picturehouse at 8:30pm.

TRASH PLANET 3: APOCALYPSE! opening night (23 September, 8:30pm, Genesis Cinema) will be Troma Entertainment’s CLASS OF NUKE ‘EM HIGH (1986). Created by the same lunatics that gave us Season 11’s THE TOXIC AVENGER (1984) and Season 10’s SURF NAZIS MUST DIE (1987), CLASS OF NUKE ‘EM HIGH takes place in the radioactive corridors of Tromaville High School, where a dangerous radiation leak from a nearby power plant turns great minds into great mutants. Pull on your hazmat suit, stock up on precious supplies, and set your geiger counter to ‘stunned’ as Token Homo exposes BAR TRASH to a nuclear age atrocity that is guaranteed to delight and offend in equal measure.
[SOLD OUT] Following the sad news of Tim Curry’s passing, we have brought forward our planned screening of CONGO (1995) (Sunday 20 September 6:30pm, Beer Merchants Tap) so we we can raise a timely glass or several to the beloved performer. Based on the 1980 novel by Michael Crichton (‘Jurassic Park’ etc.), CONGO is one of those IYKYK titles, which makes it problematically perfect for the occasion. Nominated for seven Golden Raspberry Awards including ‘Worst Picture’, CONGO was also nominated for three Saturn Awards, including ‘Best Science Fiction Film’. Tim Curry gives full pantomime as Herkermer Homolka, a ‘Romanian’ philanthropist obsessively searching for a lost city.
