TANK GIRL (1995) makes its return to BAR TRASH having appeared in our first ever season back in 2022. Chosen by blu-ray boxart designer Lucas Peverill, we couldn’t help but celebrate its glorious 30th Anniversary! Adapted from the hit comic book by Alan C. Martin and Jamie Hewlett, TANK GIRL was brought to the screen by director Rachel Talalay (FREDDY’S DEAD: THE FINAL NIGHTMARE) and stars Lori Petty (POINT BREAK) in a post-apocalyptic story of cross-species co-mingling and survival. It makes a perfect ‘Live Action’ pairing with another bonafide cult oddity, the big screen adaptation of MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE (1987) starring Dolph Lundgren.

TANK GIRL (1995)

The year is 2033, and the people of Earth have been suffering through drought for over a decade. The planet’s water supply is now controlled by a megalomaniac tyrant, Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell), but in Australia at least, there is resistance. If Kesslee wants to take control of the last water well in the Outback, he’ll need to contend with the Rippers — mutant kangaroo/human hybrids — and Tank Girl (Lori Petty): a woman with a tank and a bad attitude!

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE (1987)

On the distant planet of Eternia the battle for Castle Grayskull has begun, and He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) must round up his army to fight off the powers of darkness led by Skeletor (Frank Langella) and his horde of evil underlings. Their heroic battle takes them to Earth where He-Man — helped by Courtney Cox — must stop Skeletor from obtaining a cosmic key that will enable him to take over the entire universe.
