The film about a hapless florist and his flesh-eating plant features an iconic cast, monumental songs, several hardcore kinks, and boundary-pushing special effects. Deemed too transgressive at test screenings, the finale was dramatically changed before its 1986 cinema release to create a ‘happy’ heteronormative ending.

Queer Horror Nights is proud to present the 2012 Director’s Cut which reinstates the film’s original, outrageous climax: a plant-based apocalypse with an additional 10 minutes of show-stopping footage. If movie monsters are the queer disrupters of heteronormativity, then LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS [THE DIRECTOR’S CUT] is a radical re-edit where queer monstrosity wins (and Audrey is the ultimate ally).
