- James Bond uncovers a nuclear plot while protecting an oil heiress from her former kidnapper, an international terrorist who can’t feel pain.
THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH saw Pierce Brosnan make his third appearance as 007, alongside Sophie Marceau as an heiress with daddy issues, Robert Carlyle as a villain who can’t feel pain, and Denise Richards as nuclear scientist, Dr. Christmas Jones. The film delivers all the star-studded spectacle you’d want, peppered with the camp and kitsch that would soon be erased from the franchise. The final line – a nuclear payload of double entendre – deserves a cult following of its own.
Michael Apted’s 1999 film opens with a water-borne action sequence that was shot on the River Thames and throughout London’s historic Docklands. We’re launching CRUISING with a unique opportunity to experience the epic speedboat chase on a ship moored in the exact location where it was shot. Afterwards, join Token Homo in the bar to celebrate the fantastic history of filmmaking in Canary Wharf, including BATMAN BEGINS, BASIC INSTINCT 2 and 28 WEEKS LATER.
Queer-led, CRUISING promotes inclusion through accessible programming, vibrant hosting, radical film histories, and a diverse lineup of guests with their own distinctive voices. All films are served with intros, intermissions, and post-screening conversations. For adults aged 18+ only.
