We’re delighted to be wrapping our seventh season of BAR TRASH with one of the most influential horror films of all time, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968). As a special treat, we’re screening the 4K restoration of George A. Romero’s masterpiece that both restored the film to its original nightmarish quality and finally secured copyright protection for this much-abused title.

BAR TRASH first fell in love with Romero back in season 1, with a rare public screening of his other anti-war allegory, THE CRAZIES (1973). Whilst BAR TRASH has always shown a mixture of cult and classic titles, it’s worth noting that NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD’s explicit gore wasn’t universally loved on the film’s initial release, even earning a spot in The Golden Turkey Awards’ compendium of the ‘worst films ever made’ after a public vote. But don’t worry: its reputation as a savage classic is entirely deserved and is presented here as you’ve (probably) never seen it before.
