BOARDINGHOUSE (aka ‘Housegeist’) is a 1982 supernatural slasher film directed, written by, and starring musician John Wintergate (who plays two different roles and created the film’s special effects!). It was the first ever shot-on-video horror film to be blown up to 35mm and released theatrically in the USA.

BOARDINGHOUSE sold out back in Bar Trash Season 6 but had to be cancelled due to a power cut… I’m delighted to bring it back, and this time we’re showing the original ‘home video cut’, transferred from the ¾” master tape. This longer version of BOARDINGHOUSE plays with the ‘Horror Vision’ gimmick, warning audiences of violence by flashing a gloved fist up on screen… It’s all the crazy you will ever need.

Polite warning: BOARDINGHOUSE contains graphic scenes of violence and sexual assault, suicide, nudity, and makes very little sense… The film was shot and edited on tape, so please embrace the transfer with love.
